This study was conducted to explore the contribution of local corticosteroids to physical therapy and rehabilitation programme in 30 patients with idiopathic adhesive capsulitis who applied to Erciyes University Medical Faculty the Department of Physical Medicine Rehabilitation. The patients were randomly divided into two groups, the first group received conventional physical therapy and rehabilitation programme (hot-pack, ultrasound and exercises). The second group received local corticosteroid plus conventional physical therapy and rehabilitation programme. The patients were evaluated before and after treatment in terms of pain score and the active movement of the shoulder joint, and the findings were analyzed statistically. While there was a meaningful difference between the two groups in pain score and active movement of the shoulder joint before and after treatment, it was observed that there was not any meaningful difference between the two groups in the post treatment values.
