Inversion injuries of the ankle resulting in partial tear of the lateral ligament are common, especially in young active people, and are among the most frequent injuries presenting to accident and emergency departments. This study compares the results of patients treated by early active management, including physiotherapy, with those who were initially treated by conservative measures, followed by delayed physiotherapy.
