During a 5-week cure 102 patients with disturbance of the peripheral arterial blood supply stage II according to Fontaine were randomized classified into two therapy groups. The first group was treated with a monotherapy of 18 CO2 gas insufflations, the second group with a monotherapy of 18 CO2 gas baths. The effect of the cure was controlled by walking test, ergometric exercise examination and impedance plethysmographic examination. Each of the two therapy forms led to a significant increase in all three measuring parameters. No differences could be stated between the therapy forms.
