In a prospective study the analgesic effectiveness of practice relevant diadynamic currents was tested over three weeks in groups of 100 patients with gonarthrosis or lumbar syndrome. The pain relieving effects of the different current types (MF, DF, CP, LP) were compared. The study revealed that in about 2/3 of the gonarthrosis patients as well as in about 2/3 of the patients with lumbar syndrome, a change of pain in terms of relief can be observed in every week of therapy. No differences concerning the changes in pain can be demonstrated concerning the different types of current. Nor could any differences concerning changes in pain be found comparing the different weeks of therapy.
