In a controlled clinical study of 57 migraine patients, the efficacy of transcutaneous electric nerve stimulation (TENS) was compared to that of migraine prophylactic (Ergocomb) permitted in the GDR. The complaints were significantly reduced by both methods in a third of the patients. This result may be regarded as a significant success mainly in the patients resistant to therapy. So it is legitimate to employ the TENS as a supplementation of the present symptomatic migraine therapy.
