INTRODUCTION: Vestibular neuronitis and benign paroxysmal positional vertigo are common peripheral vestibular disorders. In acuteness vertigo and nausea are the main vegetative problems in patients with vestibular neuronitis. In the phase of compensation these symptoms decrease. This review aimed to determine the effectiveness of vestibular rehabilitation therapy (VR). METHODS: Literature search was undertaken in the database PubMed, PEDro and Cochrane. Studies which examined a kind of vertigo training in patients with vestibular neuronitis and a minimum PEDro-score of 4 have been included. RESULTS: ll randomized controlled trials (RCT), one clinical trial (CT) and four reviews were analyzed. Literature shows moderate to good evidence for vestibular rehabilitation therapy. CONCLUSION: Vestibular rehabilitation therapy could be integrated in physical therapy practice, because it is feasible and needs no expensive technical equipment.
