Re-education of unilateral spatial neglect: experimental evaluation of its effectiveness. In this paper a microcomputer-based re-education program for left extra-personal neglect is described. Fifteen patients with left neglect were studied and randomised in two groups. Nine (9) Subjects formed the experimental group and received the treatment five times a week for three months. Subjects were trained to use ipsilateral information to detect and process left-sided stimuli. The remaining 6 patients constituted the control group. The visuo-spatial performances of treated patients were significantly better than those of untreated subjects, both after treatment and after a three months follow-up.
