INTRODUCTION: The dermatomyositis and polymyositis juvenile are a solemnity-immune disease, multisystemic, that affects the skin, the skeletal muscles and the alimentary canal primarily could cause inflammatory process in the muscles and articulations, and consequently limitation to the movement and in life quality. OBJECTIVE: Discovers the application of the exercises resisted in the treatment of the dermatomyositis and polimyositis juvenile through literary revision. METHODOLOGY: We selected articles from the databases: LILACS, Medline, PubMed and Web of Science. Articles should be interventional trials. RESULTS: The results were that in the literature the resisted exercises reduce the pain, improve the function, dont present increase of the level of muscular inflammation and improve the quality of the patients life with juvenile dermatomiosite. The benefits mentioned that the exercises resisted them also improve the physical conditioning. CONCLUSION: Resistance exercises improve pain, function and physical conditioning of patients with dermamiosite and/or juvenile polymyositis.
