Nonspecific neck problems are among the most common cause affecting 14 to 71% of adult age group, which leads to potential discomfort in daily living. The current study aims to know the impact of Myofascial release technique in patient with nonspecific neck pain on pressure pain threshold, NDI and visual analogue scale.100 subjects with nonspecific neck pain were included. The subjects were assigned into 2 groups control (n = 50) and intervention (n = 50). The intervention group received Myofascial release technique and control group received basic exercise therapy. Pain intensity and neck mobility were measured using Pressure Pain Threshold (PPT), Neck disability index (NDI) and Visual analogue Scale (VAS). These measurements were performed for one week and then PRE AND POST results were obtained. Data analysis revels statistically significant results which showed pain reduction in intervention group followed by improvement in NDI score in comparison with the control group, along with significant improved in pressure pain threshold tolerance. Thus the study concluded that Myofascial release Technique is effective in reducing pain intensity, improving neck mobility in patient with nonspecific neck pain.
