OBJECTIVE: The purpose of this study is to compare the effectiveness of hormonal replacement therapy (HRT) alone versus physiotherapy in conjunction with HRT in treating postmenopausal symptoms and enhancing the quality of life in middle-aged women. METHODS: This randomized controlled trial involved 50 postmenopausal women aged 45 to 60 y. Participants were divided into two groups: one receiving HRT alone and the other receiving both HRT and physiotherapy. Quality of life and symptom severity were assessed using validated questionnaires over a six-week period. RESULTS: Indicated that both groups experienced improvements in postmenopausal symptoms and quality of life. However, the group receiving both HRT and physiotherapy showed significantly greater improvements in physical function and overall well-being compared to the HRT-only group. CONCLUSIONS: The findings suggest that combining physiotherapy with HRT is more effective in alleviating postmenopausal symptoms and enhancing the quality of life than HRT alone. This combined approach should be considered in the management of postmenopausal women.
