Consumer Summary: | HIGHLIGHTS: FITT-VP principles used to assess the effects that of exercise interventions on various cognitive functions. Chronic exercise intervention had significant positive effects on overall cognitive function in healthy people. Aerobic and resistance exercise had the greatest benefit on global cognitive function and executive function respectively. Greatest positive effects of exercise on cognitive functions were found in older adults aged > 60 years. |
