Consumer Summary: | HIGHLIGHTS: The primary finding of this analysis is aerobic training significantly improved VO2max/peak, 6-MWT, and body mass in comparison with resistance training in middle-aged to older adults. Resistance training significantly improved lean body mass in comparison with aerobic training in this population. The effects of aerobic exercise training on VO2max/peak and 6-MWT were significant regardless of health status of participants, intervention duration, age or gender. |
